Anne-Marie Boulay, PhD, graduated from Chemical Engineering at McGill University in 2006. During her studies, she completed a minor in Environmental Engineering in Montpellier, France, and a 16-month internship within the environmental department of General Motors of Canada. After her graduation, she spent 6 months in Peru teaching Entrepreneurship to women, and then worked as a consultant in environmental management in Montreal before integrating CIRAIG’s team at École Polytechnique of Montreal as a Master student in 2008. She finished her Ph.D. in 2013 on the assessment of water use impacts in LCA, during which she collaborated with Quantis Lausanne and ETH Zurich. She is the Canadian representative for the ISO Water Footprinting standard development and the chair of the WULCA working group on water use in LCA. This working group is currently developing a consensual method for water use impact assessment.

Stephan Pfister is a senior research associate at ETH Zurich, focusing on the impact assessment of water consumption in Life cycle Assessment (LCA) of agriculture and power production and advancing water footprinting concepts including future assessments and international trade. For his PhD thesis he was honored by the "SETAC Europe LCA Young Scientist Award" and the “ETH Zurich Medal”. Stephan is member of the "ecoinvent Editorial Board" focusing on water data collection and associated editor for The International Journal of Life Cycle Assessment.
